POSITION: Research Associate / Research Scientist (CDSOC)

We invite suitable candidate to join a strong research team of Temasek Laboratories@NTU with the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities

        Perform research & development work in the areas of RF signal transmission/reception and signal processing.

        Design and perform experiments to test and validate advanced RF and signal processing concepts.
        Hands-on hardware and software prototyping in an applications-oriented environment.

Requirements
 

        Possess a PhD or Master's Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a good Bachelor's degree with several years of working experience in the relevant area.
        Has interest to pursue a PhD degree (for Master's applicants).
        Most importantly, to have working experience with the parts and functions of the RF transmit and receive chain, as well as familiarity with the relevant commercial RF hardware, components and equipment.
        Strong fundamentals in the areas of digital signal processing and spectral analysis.
        Familiar with simulation and implementation of DSP on Matlab and Labview.
        Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and lead/facilitate projects with minimal supervision.
        Able to perform research & development work, and to learn and explore new areas.
        Good hands-on and practical application skills.
        Able to plan and organize well and adhere to deadlines.
        Must have strong capability in English.
        At least 1-2 years experience in an environment working with RF components.

POSITION: Research Scientist / Research Associate (201607/MEMS/CCL)

We invite suitable candidate to join a strong research team of Temasek Laboratories@NTU with the following responsibilities.

 
Responsibilities
        Work closely with local and overseas research members to develop a nanosatellite for research mission
        Assist in formulation of research mission definition, hardware and software requirements
        Design and develop complex RF communications algorithms for nanosatellite and ground station
        Design and develop on-board embedded software for mission board.
        Integrate developed software with hardware test platforms
        Perform test verification for all RF systems integrated in the nanosatellite before launch
        Assist in development and establishment of ground station communication and networking
        Continuous support in nanosatellite communication and data collection during flight mission
 
Requirements
        Possess a PhD or Master degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ Communication/ Telecommunication Engineering or other related field
        Relevant experience and strong understanding of RF communications system principles, especially Satellite communications (operating in UHF/VHF frequency bands)
        Experience in the area of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and TCP/IP protocols
        Experience with digital communications, analog and digital signal processing and RF circuit design for embedded system
        Proficient in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python
        Willing to travel overseas for development works with collaborators
        Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
